Brian’s Story. A Catalyst to Action.

In 1996 three young men who had just robbed a liquor store took the life of
St. Joseph, Minnesota police officer Brian Klinefelter. That course of events forever changed the lives of his family. His friends. And left one nagging thought. It didn't have to turn out that way.

To honor his memory, Brian's family, with help from local law enforcement agencies, churches, businesses and education leaders, formed the Brian Klinefelter Memorial Foundation in 1996. The Foundation promotes prevention programs for youth in hopes that future lives can be spared from the senseless violence that took his life.

The Foundation’s Family Friendly Workplace Initiative – among its latest efforts – assists employers in implementing family friendly practices and creating environments that grow great kids.
